Wedding Post: Favors

Favors for your wedding.. what are your plans? I was stumped thinking of what I wanted to do as favors for our guests. I didn't want to just matches or mints with our names on them. I wanted to do something fun! I searched throughout the internet on different websites for favors and I just couldn't think of what I would like to do.. Until I was searching a random website that posts photos of weddings. And I stumbled across the idea of candy in beautiful jars. I talked it over with my girls from the party and they LOVE the idea, they think it's great! I was thrilled because I wasn't sure it was a good idea, but with their reassurance I feel a lot better about it...

So basically people put bubble gum, jelly beans, m&m's, lollipops, etc in beautiful jars (kind of like the ones you would see at Juicy Couture). You allow your guests to fill up a bag of their favorite type of candy. It's genius, not only is it fun to pick out your only candy but it looks super-cute too. And it screams Vanessa. :)

I found random photos on wedding blogs and websites that I would show what I was thinking of.

My absolute favorite is the last one. It's so cute! The only problem I'm going to have is deciding what my guests will have to fill the candy.. a box, a bag.. ?? Any ideas?

Wedding Post

This is going to be the start of very many wedding posts.. haha. I started to put together my engagement photo album and took some photos of photos for you guys. lol. I kind of want this to be a good reminder of how I planned my wedding. The fiance thinks we should start our own wedding website. I wish I knew how! For now, it's just going to have to be on my blog. :)

I also went through some magazines I have and decided to start a little "inspiration book". When I see things that I like, that I would like for my wedding I'm cutting it out of magazines. This way when I start to go shopping for things I have a general idea, if not a very good idea, of things I want. :) And because I started to do this, I'm going to share it on my blog! I hope you guys enjoy.

I know a few blogs I follow are planning their wedding through their blog and I thought it was very inspirational and thought I would do it on my blog as well.

One day I'm going to put together a whole scrapbook of my engagement, engagement party, wedding AND honeymoon. Until that day, that photo album will have to do.

Now onto random magazine clippings..

First of all this is very random.. but how very cute would this be to put on your door for your honeymoon?! I mean I could picture myself putting this adorable pillow on the door and taking a photo with it.. haha. I'm just a dork like that.

Photobucket

This is just a little "Bride" make up kit. I'm obviously not going to be purchasing a make up kit for $175.. I only like it for the make up bag, I could very well put my own make up in it.. but I'd love to have this to take on my honeymoon or the day of my wedding for touch ups. I wonder if I could find just a makeup bag to do that..

Photobucket

Now as far as the colors of my wedding go, it'll be hot pink, orange and another color, which I don't know of it (suggestions please!) but I LOVE the idea of the pink flowers underneath my wedding cake.

Photobucket

As far as the guestbook is concerned, I don't want your traditional guest book where guests sign their name, I want something fun like this guest book. Basically guests are given a page and they fill it out. For instance, they ask where you met the couple (bride and groom), etc. I thought it was a cute idea. If you like the idea as well I included the whole page so you can check out their website.

I hope you enjoyed this post. And for those getting married I hope I gave you guys some inspiration. :) Goodnight.

Target Haul and NOTD

I haven't been to Target in such a long time, feels like years, and oh how I missed you Target! My main purpose of going to Target is for a new blow dryer. The one I have back at the apartment is about to die :( Sometimes it blows out hot air, other times, cold. Needless to say it was time for a new one. But you can't just go to Target for one thing, you have to look around. I spent a good 45 minutes in Target today. Oh how I love you Target and all your wonderful things inside. :) Not only did I pick up a blow dryer I picked up new flip flops, photo album, scrapbook, nail polish, lipstick..

Lately I've been thinking a lot about my wedding and all the little details and such, which I'll probably be doing more wedding posts as days go on. My wedding is a little over a year away and I want to start purchasing things and getting things rolling. Yesterday I thought about buying a wedding planning book. I meant to go to Barnes and Nobles today but just didn't have the time. Instead I was thinking about getting a photo album for all of our photos from the actual engagement. The fiance and I plan on getting our pictures professionally done in the summer. But I've had these photos from when the fiance and I got engaged at the beach and they're just sitting in a drawer in my bedroom without a home. So I wanted to pick up a small photo album for them.. I found this adorable photo album at Target on clearance for $7.00! It's not big at all, I didn't need a big fancy one..

Photobucket

I love this!

This is the back of the photo album

The main reason I grabbed this one is because it's small and because it's blue. Blue because John asked me to marry him at the beach so I thought blue would be appropriate. :)

Anyway, also while I was searching through the photo albums I found this predone scrapbook for planning your wedding. Basically you fill it in, when you two first met, when you got engaged, pictures of your bridal parties, etc. I thought this was such a good idea! Plus it was on clearance for $13.00

Plus each page is also a folder! If you have place cards or extra invitations or save the dates you can put them in the folders! So smart! :)

And last but not least, normally I don't do these, but it's a nail of the day! :)

Steve Madden Bow Flip Flops Dupe

As you guys may know I'm on spring break this week.. so the fiance and I decided to visit a friend who lives in Baltimore Maryland for the weekend. And of course, as you guys know, I went shopping.. haha. We went to this beautiful mall in the city and I found these flip flops. I almost died when I seen them because I seen a post by Veronika's Blushing and she posted that she bought these similar flip flops at Steve Madden but for $40.00!... The ones I got are almost identical to hers (well besides that mine are black) except I got mine for a whopping $16.00!

I got them from a store called Laila Rowe. I'm not sure if they have a website or not, but try googling it. The store had so many cute things. Especially umbrellas! Although I thought they were kind of expensive I passed them up.. But the store as a ton of cute accessories!

But anyway onto my flip flops.. Originally I wanted these in white but I opted for the black because they were only $16.00 and I was on the hunt for them ever since I seen them on Veronika's blog. I looked every where! I looked on the Steve Madden's website, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus I can't seem to find them! I don't live near a Steve Madden, so I have to opt for ordering, but just can't seem to find them online. So you could imagine my excitement when I found these rare gems sitting in a random shop in Baltimore Maryland. :)

Photobucket

They even come in a cute little mesh bag!

Please excuse my awful paint job on the toenails. I need to re-do them!

So if anyone knows where I can find these online I still want to purchase the white ones, comment below!!

I Heart My Valentine!

Wow, it's been close to a full month since I last blogged! I missed you guys! I really have no explanation for my absence besides school work and life. Luckily for you guys, and me, I'll be on Spring Break starting tomorrow at 12:05. :) I can't believe it's already March and soon I'll be done with school for the semester. You have no idea how excited I am to get back to work, friends and family. :)

Anyway, I know this is extremely late but I guess it's better later than never. Haha. This will be my Valentines Day post. I have an OOTD for ya, and my present from the fiance. :)

The fiance and I celebrated Valentines late this year because it fell on a Monday and we had classes and school work, so we decided to celebrate it the following weekend. :) We kept it low key by going to Red Lobster and to a movie.

OOTD (I'm sorry for the horrible lighting)
