Steve Madden Shoes!

As I said in a previous post I've been doing some shopping for some new sandals with a little bit of a heel. I found 2 gorgeous pairs of Steve Madden shoes. My fiance even bought me a pair! How sweet is he?! He thinks they're ugly, but I think they're perfect for this spring and summer, definitely will bring something to a plain outfit. Has a 1.25" heel.

You can check them out here, they're actually a pre-order. Scheduled to ship out May 2. Not too bad. Price: $49.95

They're also available in this purple multi-color. But I was just drawn to the yellow. Yellow reminds me of spring. :D

I also came across these dressy sandals from Steve Madden as well. Price: Org.69.95 on Sale $48.95 1.5" Heel. I need a pair of dressy sandals to wear to a wedding coming up in May, and I honestly don't own any dressy sandals! So I will be purchasing these as well.

Definitely shoes I could wear more than once, and especially for work. :)

Shoes shoes shoes!

Couldn't really think of a good title, that's the best I could come up with. :) Haha. Yesterday I was browsing through websites for some new shoes. I've really been wanting to wear more heels. I'm so inspired by some girls who are tall that wear high heels. I've always shy-ed away from them because I feel that I'm too tall just wearing flats, wearing heels would make me feel even taller! But the fiance and I went shoe shopping the one time, and he actually encourages me to wear heels, he doesn't feel uncomfortable with me being a little taller than him.

Putting much thought into, I'm going to branch out and by more heels, maybe not too high of heels, but baby ones. :) Besides I probably wouldn't be able to step into platforms like everyone else, I'd probably fall right on my bum! :)

So I purchased a really cute pair of shoes from DSW.com by Blowfish. I often buy their flats for work because they're so comfortable. But when I seen these sandals I fell in love with them. Only 1 2/5in. heel to them. Have to start somewhere.

I ordered them last night I'm hoping they are here for the weekend! Anyway, until I get them I can think of all the outfits I could wear with them. :)

A Friend's Bridal Shower & OOTD

This Sunday I attended my beautiful friend, Sarah's, bridal shower. Everything was absolutely beautiful, and I had an amazing time. I'm super-excited for her wedding! :D

Her bridal shower was themed like a Tea Party. What a cute idea! She had cute little tea cups everywhere in all different assortments. She even had cute little sugar cups at each table. SO adorable! As favors for her guests, she had jars filled with all the dry ingredients you would need to make cookies, including recipes!

Before I left I managed to take a few photos of my outfit.

The dishes she picked out are absolutely adorable, they're "square-like" with cute flowers on them. :)

Someone made her a hat to wear on her honey moon. Haha

    Wedding Post: Update

I'm beyond frustrated right now. I'm home now spending time with the family, and no one has brought up anything about our wedding. So I had to bring some thing up about it. I don't want this to be ignored or to be pushed aside, I want some resolutions. If you're confused please read my previous post before this post to understand what's going on) Any kind of conflict that is ever brought up in my family is always pushed aside or ignored and everyone pretends everything is fine. Or they ignore the person for a year, and when it's convenient for them, they'll speak to you. (This happened between my mom and I for many years)

.. So needless to say, I had to bring something up. So I asked my mother when I was giving her a hair cut if she had read the book and what she thought of it, "I read a quarter of the way through it so far" And then quickly changed the subject. To be honest, it wasn't the response I was looking for. I was hoping she would say she spoke with my father about what my fiance and I proposed to them and said what they thought about it. Nope, she quickly changed the subject. I guess she didn't want to deal with it.

I asked my father just a little while ago if there was any wedding talk that I should know about, "No, your mother's reading the book. But no, nothing, and I haven't said anything to your brother." I asked him why nothing has been said to my brother and he just shrugged. And the subject was dropped.

I can't stand to just sit by and have them think of this as a light subject. To me, it's everything and they're shrugging it off. All I want more than ever is to have my father walk me down the aisle, marry the person I love more than anything in this world, and build a family together. I feel like my life is at such a stand still because my parents don't want to deal with the subject. I feel like more than anything that I want to cry right now. This is so depressing.

I don't understand why my family can't be happy for me, and want to see my fiance and I live a happy life together. They sit there, shrugging the matter off, as if nothing is bothering me. I don't understand why my family can't see how happy my fiance and I are together!

Tomorrow is my friend's Bridal Shower and to be honest I was SO excited for it, now I'm feeling envious. It hurts to know your family isn't behind you 100%.

I'm sorry for the depressing post. But honestly, I have no one to talk to right now, and I needed to get this out.

Wedding Post: Wedding Etiquette Question For You Guys!

On a recent trip to Barnes and Noble, the Fiance and I decided to pick up a Wedding Planner, and also a Wedding Etiquette book. You're probably wondering why I decided to pick up a Wedding Etiquette book when I could just research online. To be brutally honest I've come to a huge hump in my wedding planning. I don't like to include things about my life that are so depressing but I'm reaching out to you guys for some advice!

My family, the Fiance and I are all in disagreement. You see, I have one sibling, I have a brother, whom I'm not very close with (Which I'm not going to get into detail about, just going to say that we're not close). My family believes that my brother has to be part of the fiance's party. My fiance has had his party picked out since he first knew he was going to pop to question, his 2 best friends (since grade school), and his brother.

Before the fiance was going to ask me to marry him, he had a talk with my father. My father did mention in the conversation about my brother being in the party, but Fiance told him his reasons why he didn't want him in the party. My father didn't disagree, and left it at that.

Now that Fiance has popped the question and we're trying to plan the wedding, my parents no longer want to have anything to do with the wedding. Fiance and I are obviously both college students with not a lot of money, especially not enough money to cover a whole wedding, so it was always the understanding we would have help from my family. Without my parents help, the wedding will be prolonged until Fiance and I could both afford to have the wedding.

My parents wanting nothing to do with the wedding is putting it lightly. My parents are trying to force my brother into the wedding. If my brother isn't in the wedding party, they will not attend. My father no longer wants to walk me down the aisle because what I'm doing is not right. I also have my three girls that I want in the party, whom I already asked, and my mother is blaming me for only having three girls and that I should of asked a fourth girl just so my brother could be in the wedding.

Also, my parents think if they pay for the whole thing they want to be in charge of the whole wedding, where I would have no decisions in absolutely anything. Which I could kind of understand in a way, but kind of didn't understand..

With much crying and being depressed about the whole thing, Fiance and I decided to take a different approach and figure out a way to please everybody. Fiance also has a sister, whom I wasn't including in the wedding because I'm not close with her, just like Fiance isn't close with my brother. Fiance and I decided to ask my parents if it would be ok if my brother and his sister were both Ushers. We also asked Fiance's parents if they would have split the costs of the wedding with my father, and they agreed, because they want more than anything to see us get married. Fiance and I also decided to help pay for things so that way it will help my father with the burden of paying for the whole wedding, and also my parents can't have complete control.

We presented my parents with this information about a week ago, and we told them to think about it, and read the book we bought. We didn't just buy the book to prove a point, we also bought it because it's not like any of our families planned a wedding before so it would help with misunderstandings.

So I'm asking you guys, I need some advice and what struggles did you guys have in planning your wedding?
