Product Rave: Lush Granny Takes a Dip Bath Bomb

This week will be pretty hectic, so I am trying to get in as much blogging as I can, as I will be MIA next week. 

I have a product rave, something I've never done on my blog, but after using this product I needed to share it! Recently I did a blog post about my Lush haul, which you can see here. I purchased the new bath bomb called Granny Takes a Dip, which you can purchase here for $6.95, and I highly suggest that you do! I need to make another trip to a Lush store. I tried this on Saturday night and I put the whole bath bomb into the bath tub (which I didn't need to, but I didn't know when I would be able to use it again, so I figured why not just use it all?).  

It's just amazing. This bath bomb made my skin SO soft. I have really dry skin, especially in the winter, I am always applying lotion after I shower, but with this bath bomb, I didn't even bother using lotion. This kept my skin soft all night and the whole next day. Not to mention it smells like Fun Dip!

Not only does it create a lot of bubbles but it changes your water all different fun colors!

Have you tried any of Lush's Bath Bomb's? Which ones are your favorites? 

I definitely need some suggestions, I'd love to try more of them.

Do you ever just have one of the weeks that seem to take forever and just are generally bad weeks? It was just a bad week for me and I couldn't be happier that it's finally Friday and I'm home in my comfy pajamas with a cup of green tea. 

The last two weekends I have done a little bit of shopping (besides the Lush haul, which you can see in this post.) I made more cruise clothing purchases and other random purchases.

I picked up these two skirts for 2 for $16. What a steal! I was really attracted to the tribal print but than discovered the chevron one and who doesn't love chevron? These would be perfect with just a black tank and jean jacket.  

I also needed new scents for my car. I picked up my favorite Sweat Pea and I'm going to try the Farmstand Apple. I haven't tried that scent before (I don't think). But I think it'll go perfectly into the fall. 

The Fiance picked this up for me at Pandora in Atlantic City. Of course I'll wear this as a necklace. He didn't understand the reason for the & symbol, but sometimes guys just don't understand. haha

In Atlantic City they opened a new bakery called Boardwalk Cupcakes. They sold cupcakes and merchandise. I scored this t-shirt for $20. It's going to be too big, but I don't care! 

I found a ton of cute things in H&M but didn't have the time to try anything on, but I did manage to pick up this set of rings. They're perfect because even though it says Medium, they're all different sizes, including Midi rings (which are hard to find!). 

I'm excited to just relax this weekend. Sunday I'll be doing some shopping with my brother and Fiance, but other than that I'm considering it a relaxing weekend. Plus this weekend will be beautiful out, finally.

Wedding Wednesday: Meeting the Photographer & Questions I Asked

One of my top priorities for my wedding is to have an amazing photographer. 

The photographer was actually the second item I booked. 

I bet many bloggers can relate - they want amazing photos for their wedding. 

I wanted a photographer who can capture those moments that I will remember forever. 

One of the Wedding Shows the fiance and I went to had this amazing husband/wife photography business. They had amazing photos on canvas's that I just fell in love with. You can tell the style of photography just by looking at their samples. I did't want a point and shoot photographer - I wanted a photographer who can get those moments that are least expected. I didn't want a photographer bothering me while I'm enjoying my day, but at the same time, I want them taking a lot of photos. The photographer we got is Minnig Photography out of Bloomsburg, PA. The photographer is actually a big portion of our budget. But that's ok, because I knew that was one of the items I didn't want to cheat out on. I knew that it was important to my fiance & I so we were ok going into it. We got a list of pricings from them at the Wedding Show so we knew what we were going into. Believe me we thoroughly thought it through before we made the appointment to meet the photographers. 

Below are a list of questions I thought was important for our photographers:

1. Have you shot photos at our venue before?
They did once before. This was important to me because I wanted to see samples of their photos to see what kind of shots were possible. 


2. Do you work from a shot list? Can I see it?
Most photograhers do work from a shot list, so I wanted to see what kind of photos they typically take. But the photographers were so nice they showed up 5 books of wedding photos. By the end of seeing all the wedding books I knew that I liked their style of photos.


3.Can I request certain images for the wedding?
 Pinterest will do this to you! Of course I have a lot of photos saved to my Pinterest board that I want our photographers to capture. When I asked the photographers about Pinterest they laughed and said that Pinterest could be a good thing and a bad thing. A bad thing being that you capture the photos you want, but also miss out on other potential photos you don't even realize you may like. They stated for me to send a list of photos that I do like from Pinterest so we can recreate some, but they mostly want to see them so that they can see the type of style of photo I like. 

4. How many hours are included?
I was worried about this because I wanted them to capture photos of everything! Haha, I didn't want to be limited to a couple hours. Before going into the meeting I didn't know what they did. They are actually there as early and as late as we want them. He said that they can be there for us at 8 in the morning if we request it. And we're not limited to hours. We have them for our whole day!

5. How many images can I expect?
For our engagement photo shoot (which was a hour) we only got 40 pictures (I was so disappointed), with a typical wedding you should expect about 500 edited photos. With our photographers we will be getting 2,000+ photos that he is willing to edit with no extra charge. You may think that 2,000 photos is too much for you, but for me, it was perfect. 

6. Do you get the right to the photos or do I need to purchase them through a website?

This was HUGE for me! Our engagement photos we did not get the rights to and we HAD to purchase them through the website. A big no-no! Each 4x6 photo would have cost us $20, and the rights to one photo would cost us $50. With our photographer we have the rights to the photo and they're on the disc. We will be able to print them any where we want to. Which is perfect!

Photos are very important to me, so that's why we chose to spend a lot of money on that. For your wedding it may be different - it all depends on what is important to you.

BIG Lush Haul & Reviews

Happy Tuesday!

The past two weekends I have been in Atlantic City, once with the fiance and once with my best friend. Both times I went to Lush, so I'm here to share my purchase and reviews of the products. 

Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb - $6.95 - Can be found here. 

Obviously I haven't tried this yet. I'm going to try it this coming weekend. I bought this because when I was at the store one of the sales clerks mentioned how it smelt like fun dip - does it ever! It smells so good and it looks fun. Can't wait to try it. 

D'Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap -  $16.95 - Can be found here.

This was the last one left when I was at the store. It smells SO good. I tried this in the shower that same day. I love the scent, but you need to use a lot to get it to lather up. Considering how much you get in the pot, I don't mind using more, but using it all the time would be too costly for me. Also, this definitely made my skin feel silky smooth, definitely a plus, sometimes soaps can make your skin feel dried out.

Cupcake Fresh Face Mask - $6.95 - Can be found here. 

Unfortunately, you cannot buy this online, it's only available in store. The reason for that, I believe, is that it needs to stay refrigerated. The sales clerk explained to me there is an active ingredient in this face mask that needs to be cold. I did keep it in the refrigerator in the hotel but it was in my car for the 5 hours home. I haven't used it since, so I'm hoping it's still good? 

 Fiance applied this to my face that same night I bought it (I think he was having too much fun). The scent of this face mask is just amazing - it smells exactly like chocolate and it almost made me want to eat it. It definitely deep cleaned my skin and didn't cause my sensitive skin to break out. Plus the fiance said I smelt like chocolate all night - always a good thing right? Haha.

He's far too excited. 

These are some samples I haven't tried yet. Curly Wurly, Fairly Trade Honey and Petread are all hair products, and ocean salt is a body scrub.

My best friend actually convinced me to purchase this. And I'm SO glad she did. It smells like mint chocolate. You can use it as a scrub or a mask. And the scrub is also good for your back if you have trouble areas(and sometimes I do!). I used this as a mask tonight and love the way my skin feels. It feels so soft and clean. I would definitely recommend this and I applaud her for opting for the larger size - I should have! Haha

Nail Art - Fishtail & Pineapples - with Tutorials!

Happy Friday!

I have some very exciting things happening this weekend. Saturday is my best friend's sons 1st birthday party!!!! I can't wait! & Sunday is Lady Antebellum concert in Atlantic City on the beach. I am behind excited, it's my first concert ever. :)

Anyway, I have some nail art that I haven't shared yet on my blog that I did in the month of July.

I had a little fun this month with experimenting with nail art. I finally conquered the fishtail nail polish art and some pineapples(Which may or may not have looked like pineapples, but I still loved them & so did the fiance, so that's all that matters right?!)

This was in Atlantic City, we had green tea ice cream, it was pretty good!
 Below is the tutorial I followed. As you can tell it didn't come out as good as the photo. My manager, the CFO, thought they were bugs. Haha.

This actually took me a whole hour, and I'm glad I only did the accent nail. The trick with this nail art is waiting for each layer to dry completely so you don't have a mix of colors. This was probably my favorite look I've ever done, but expect to spend at least a hour on it!

DIY Starfish Hair Pin

Happy Tuesday!

I have a little DIY for you today. 

It's actually so simple I'm not sure why I'm calling it a DIY. 

When I was at the beach I did a little shopping and came across these adorable Starfish hair clips, but the store wanted around $15 for them. It looked so simple to make I decided to make it myself, I just needed to find a starfish. Of course being at the beach I found a bunch of fake seashells in stores, so I just picked one up there, but I am sure you can find seashells at your local craft store. 

Supplies needed:

Bobby Pin with a base - I bought mine at Wal-Mart

Starfish seashell

Hot glue gun

 

 If you look at the third picture you can see the bobby pin that has a base. You could probably use a regular bobby pin but I'm not sure it'll stay? If you do try it, let me know!

This is something I'll be packing for the cruise. :)

Wedding Wednesday: Our Wedding Colors Pink & Orange

Happy Wedding Wednesday! 

Today I'm sharing some inspirational photos I'm using for our colors for our wedding. 

Pink and orange are our colors.

Pink is my favorite color and Fiance's is orange, so of course our wedding colors were going to be that. 

People always say they wish that Pinterest was around for their wedding, and honestly, I am too. I don't know what I'd do without it! I was reading someone's blog about how they created a separate account so no family or friends can view your wedding plans. I think that's what I will do, or create a Secret board(don't you love those?!). I don't want to spoil my wedding with everyone seeing what I'm planning!

Anyway, here are some inspirational photos of pink and orange that I hope to use for our wedding. 

I'm SO undecided about our invitations but I love those look of these. 

Candy buffet will be favors for our guests. 

I absolutely love this garter set. 

When I was originally planning our wedding I bought a set from Victoria Secrets, but once I saw this photo I changed my mind. This will definitely be a DIY in the near future. :)

 

Fiance & I love Starbursts. We may need to make this our signature cocktail drink. I'm still on the fence though. 

Anyone have suggestions for a pink and orange drink? 

 

I'm so excited to do all the little details. 

I guess you can say I'm a detailed person. What I do for a living is pretty detailed, so I guess I should like it. 

I'm looking forwarding to putting all those little details together. I'm also scared it won't come out the way I pictured. But I guess that's why we're giving a year to plan right?! :)

If you planned your wedding through Pinterest, how did you do it? Did you create a separate account or just created a Secret board? I don't want me guests knowing all the details!
