DIY Starfish Hair Pin

Happy Tuesday!

I have a little DIY for you today.
It's actually so simple I'm not sure why I'm calling it a DIY.

When I was at the beach I did a little shopping and came across these adorable Starfish hair clips, but the store wanted around $15 for them. It looked so simple to make I decided to make it myself, I just needed to find a starfish. Of course being at the beach I found a bunch of fake seashells in stores, so I just picked one up there, but I am sure you can find seashells at your local craft store.

Supplies needed:
Bobby Pin with a base - I bought mine at Wal-Mart
Starfish seashell
Hot glue gun

If you look at the third picture you can see the bobby pin that has a base. You could probably use a regular bobby pin but I'm not sure it'll stay? If you do try it, let me know!

This is something I'll be packing for the cruise. :)

Have a great night.

Wedding Wednesday: Our Wedding Colors Pink & Orange

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Today I'm sharing some inspirational photos I'm using for our colors for our wedding.
Pink and orange are our colors.
Pink is my favorite color and Fiance's is orange, so of course our wedding colors were going to be that.

People always say they wish that Pinterest was around for their wedding, and honestly, I am too. I don't know what I'd do without it! I was reading someone's blog about how they created a separate account so no family or friends can view your wedding plans. I think that's what I will do, or create a Secret board(don't you love those?!). I don't want to spoil my wedding with everyone seeing what I'm planning!

Anyway, here are some inspirational photos of pink and orange that I hope to use for our wedding.

I'm SO undecided about our invitations but I love those look of these.

Candy buffet will be favors for our guests.

I absolutely love this garter set.
When I was originally planning our wedding I bought a set from Victoria Secrets, but once I saw this photo I changed my mind. This will definitely be a DIY in the near future. :)

Fiance & I love Starbursts. We may need to make this our signature cocktail drink. I'm still on the fence though.
Anyone have suggestions for a pink and orange drink?

I'm so excited to do all the little details.
I guess you can say I'm a detailed person. What I do for a living is pretty detailed, so I guess I should like it.
I'm looking forwarding to putting all those little details together. I'm also scared it won't come out the way I pictured. But I guess that's why we're giving a year to plan right?! :)

If you planned your wedding through Pinterest, how did you do it? Did you create a separate account or just created a Secret board? I don't want me guests knowing all the details!

Work Office Outfits

Happy Monday!

I had such a fun weekend! Fiance and I took a day trip to Atlantic City, we had intentions of making it a beach day but it rained in the morning but ended up being nice in the afternoon. So I was happy about that. We ended up sitting on the beach and playing in the sand. Sunday we went to a Farmer's Market in Columbus, NJ. We wanted to go blue berry picking in Hammonton, NJ, but that day was SO hot. We made the best of it. Anyway, I'll post about it on another day.
I have some work outfits to post from last week.

Top: Kohls/Scarf: New York/Capris: New York & Company/Flats: DSW Blowfish
I kind of liked this outfit. Ideally I wanted to wear just a plain white shirt with the scarf, but I actually couldn't find one! (On a mission now). I need your help, how would you wear this scarf?
(side night, look at that cupcake calendar, wouldn't that make you happy to look at? hehe)

(I had a good hair day, don't you love those days?!)

 Blue top:Olsen Boy JCPenney/Pants: New York & Company/Shoes: DSW Blowfish/Necklace: Pandora charm

Cardigan:Charlotte Russe/Ruffle Tank:Forever 21/Skirt: Ross/Shoes:DSW Blowfish/Watch:Michael Kors/Bracelet: Charming Charlie's

Outlet Shopping: Forever 21 & Coach

Happy Thursday!

Last week Fiance & I went to some local outlets to do some shopping.
I only had a hour to shop, I don't think I've ever shopped so quickly before and only need to return one thing. Haha. I only stopped at two stores: Forever 21 and the Coach outlet.

I was lucky enough to be there when both stores had sales.
When I was at Coach everything was 50% off their lowest ticket. (My kind of sale). I didn't have any intentions on picking anything up, but ended up with these two items!
Last year for our cruise I used a Coach wristlet similiar to this one pictured here. It was so easy to carry around! All I needed was my camera, room key and chapstick!
Fiance and I's favorite colors are orange and pink (the colors of our wedding), so this wristlet definitely attracted me. Also, I picked up the banana keychain, it was too cute not too. Haha.

Everything pictured here is from Forever 21 and was 30% off their sale prices. I don't think I paid over $10 for anything. I picked up some work shirts and just regular "Weekend" tops.

Have a great night!

Wedding Wednesday: Meeting the Priest

Happy Wednesday!

I'm following in the foot steps of a fellow blogger who use to do Wedding Wednesday's. It was one of my favorite posts by her, check out Danielle's blog over at Schnelle!

As most of you know, Fiance and I are finally planning our wedding for next June 27, 2015!
I'm in total planning mode, but also making sure to enjoy it. It only happens once after all! (Well for most of us!) I feel that time is just slipping by and I always wanted to document my planning and we started planning in the beginning of February and it's already July! So I thought to myself what better way to document it is by sharing it with everyone who follows my blog. I also wanted to use it as a helpful tool for people that are also planning their wedding. :)

Anyway, yesterday Fiance & I had a scheduled meeting to meet with the priest who would marry us. I always pictured my wedding to be at my church in my hometown, but unfortunately, with churches consolidating, this would no longer be an option. Not to mention we both no longer live in that area.

I am Catholic and Fiance is not. But one of my father's requirements were when my fiance asked for permission is that we have a Catholic mass and we raise our children Catholic. My father is a very strict Catholic and I grew up attending church every Sunday since I was a little girl. Now that I am older and have a career things have changed for me and I am not able to do that as often as I want. So needless to say I was scared meeting the priest who would marry us...

One of the things that I didn't realize, and maybe if you're Catholic you already know this, but I needed to join the church I was to be married in. I already belonged to a church in my hometown and whenever I would go in to visit friends and family I would always attend church there, so I never thought to joining the church where I live now. So, that was step 1 for me!

We got the paperwork out of the way and he started to discuss the steps needed to become married. Besides joining the church, Fiance and I are to meet with the priest again to do what is called an "Inventory". This session takes about a hour and a half of our time, and its basically a "Test" of Fiance and I's strengths and weaknesses. The priest will go over the tests and look for things that would cause concern and he discusses the with us. I'm not 100% on all the details so I don't want to share until we actually go through the process. My next meeting is August 11.

The next step is that Fiance and I need to attend classes. And for the church that I now belong to, I have three options:
1) Go to classes
2) Meet with a sponsored couple who is willing to go through everything that would happen in class
3) Go on a weekend retreat

Fiance & I enjoy the idea of a weekend retreat, so that will most likely happen.

After the weekend retreat we do not need to meet with the priest until after Easter (a couple month before the wedding). What needs to happen at the point is I need to share proof of my baptism and Fiance needs his parents to attest that he was baptized (since he is not Catholic) the Catholic church has no proof of him being baptized. The priest said that with Catholics there is a paper trail easy to find(including if you were married previously or not!).

Another very important thing I learned was we are not allowed to have a Full mass(when I say full mass, I mean with communion). If we truly wanted to have a full mass my fiance would need to write a letter to the Bishop explaining why he wants to have a full mass(and telling the Bishop that we want to have a full mass because my father wants us to will not cut it! haha) The reason for this is unity. A marriage ceremony is about two people becoming one entity, and if I were to have a full mass and I were to receive communion and my fiance did not, that shows separation, and he states that's not what it's supposed to be when starting a life together.

The priest went on to explain to us about marriage and that marriage is to last a life time and that today it's so common for divorces because it's so easy to quit. And I completely agree with him!

Anyway, we are booked for the church I couldn't be happier. I'll share a picture of the church. It's not my own picture so I do not take credit.  (When I get time I'll take a walk down and take pictures of the church, it really is beautiful!) Actually, the church is right across from a beautiful levy, I hope to take pictures along the levy with family and the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

I also wanted to share my outfit that I wore to meet the priest.

Dress: Target/Cardigan: New York & Company/Flats: DSW

Necklace is actually a Pandora charm that my mom bought me for my birthday. She was so excited for me to meet the priest I wanted her there with me in some way(I know it sounds silly!).

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post, there's so much more I want to share, I may even want to do two posts a week as the wedding gets closer. :)

Have a great night!

Work Day Office Outfits & Weekend Pictures

Happy Monday!

I have two outfits to share that I wore last week to work.
My personal goal is to dress up a little more for work. I caught myself in a rut wearing the same 7 pairs of slacks over and over with the occasional dress thrown in. I figured since it's summer it's time to break out some of my skirts, and to be honest, they're more comfortable anyway!

Can I also just mention how difficult it is to take pictures of your outfit at work? I don't have a full length mirror any where so I opt for these weird angles to get the full outfit. Laugh at me, I know.

Necklace is from New York & Company.

Blazer: JCPenney/Tank: Forever 21/Skirt: JCPenney/Flats: Target

Another issue I am having is incorporating more of my casual shirts into a more dressier way. When I wore this outfit we had a company picnic and I thought the gingham would be appropriate. I actually got quite a bit of compliments from this shirt and I was afraid to wear it because I thought it was too casual.
 Shirt: JCPenney/Skirt: New York & Company/Flats: Target

This past weekend the fiance and I did some exploring in a new city. It was a completely random day where we woke up at 9 and just got dressed, didn't really cared what we looked like and had a random fun day. We went shopping at a farmer's market and I picked up blueberries(of course), grapes and a HUGE watermelon. Afterwards we went to see The Purge, SO good by the way!

If I knew how to cut up a pineapple I would have bought one!

I changed my chalkboard to a countdown to our cruise. We're so excited! :)

Have a great night!

Ipsy Glam Bag July Pictures

Happy Thursday!

You know we are one day closer to this weekend? And I definitely need it! :)
Today I'm sharing my Ipsy Glam Bag for July today. I'm not going to review any products today (I'm sorry) but figured I share what was in MY glam bag.

What was in your glam bag?

How adorable is this bag? I love the scalloped edges, such a nice touch Ipsy!

I'm really starting to love Pixi products so I was excited to see another Pixi product in this month's glam bag.

I'm not a huge fan of Bare Minerals but I am going to give this a shot. It's suppose to be a BB cream eyeshadow but also brightens, smooths, protects and can be used as a primer.

Has anyone ever head of Whet nail polish before? I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but this is a bright blue, almost neon dark blue. I'm excited to try this on my toes!

The product on top is a Split End Mender and Preventer, I could definitely use this considering my bleached ends from my Ombre hair. The second product is a Hang 10 dark tanning oil. I have heard of Hang 10 but never used anything by them.

Until my actual review of the products, have a good night!
