Weekend Recap: Bridal Shower Gifts, Pedicure, & Fall Decorating

Happy Monday!

Only 4 more working days until a 3 day weekend - which I am looking forward to very much so.
Yes, I am counting down.

Friday:

I left work a little early so the hubby & I could have a date night together. The night before was the company's CEO reception. She is leaving the company she built up to pursue other endeavors so we had a party for her. We did the centerpieces with sunflowers and I decided to keep some of the flowers for my office. Who doesn't love sunflowers?

Saturday:
Saturday the hubby & I spent the whole day cleaning our apartment and bringing out things from our bridal shower. I was told once that if you start using your bridal shower gifts before the wedding it is bad luck. So I waited until after our wedding day to start putting things together. (I will have a whole separate post on this and my gifts). I must say our apartment is really coming together with everything we got from our bridal shower.

I had this pumpkin lying around so I decided to put it on my end table. Can't wait to start bringing out more of my fall stuff. I think I love fall and Halloween so much because my birthday and my dad's birthday fall in the month of October. :)

Sunday:
I decided to give myself a pedicure since it's been a while. I used Julie G's Candy Shoppe in Pixie Stick. I did buy a bunch of these a while ago, this is only the second color I'm using and I can't say I'm much of a fan. Will review later.

On our wedding cake stand I had this sign. "I love you more than cupcakes". I am really trying to re-purpose and use everything we bought for our wedding. So I decided to put this on a shelf in our kitchen.

This spice rack below is a gift from a friend. I absolutely LOVE this! I completely forgot I even registered for it! How sweet of her to buy this for me. This will definitely make cooking easier.

We also stayed in, cooked dinner, and watched a movie. We got new pots and pans from our registry and also the strawberry hand towels from my wonderful aunt. How adorable are they?!

It was such a good weekend, but I am looking froward to next weekend even more!

Lush Cosmetics Bath Melts Review in Floating Island

Happy Friday!

Today I am reviewing a Lush Cosmetics luxury bath melt in Floating Island. You can purchase it here for $7.95. I have never used this one before. The only other luxury bath melt I have used was Marshmallow Moment. I really enjoyed that one, so that's why I thought I'd give this one a try.
As far as the look of it - it looks like the bottom of a cupcake to me. I think that's why I like it. You know me and my love for cupcakes. :)

The smell as described on the website: "Creamy lemon and sandalwood luxury". To me - this smells like vanilla. Plain and simple. Have you tried this? What does it smell like to you?

I really do love these, they make my skin so soft! It's calming to me as well, plus it makes bubbles in the tub, with no glitter or any other fancy stuff. I would definitely recommend trying this out.

I am looking forward to seeing their Halloween collection this year. Does anyone know when it typically comes out?

Have a great night!

Wedding Wednesday: Honeymoon Day 3 Couples Resort Negril Jamaica

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

There's nothing better than recapping my honeymoon on a crappy Wednesday evening. :)
Day 3 on our honeymoon we began to feel more comfortable with our surroundings and finally started to relax. Plus we had a fun day ahead of us, which included our first time ever snorkeling. We have been on two cruises before and if you wanted to do snorkeling it was an extra fee. I liked that at this resort it was included in the price.

Hubby & I didn't have a chance to check our the breakfast buffet so we decided to go on day 3. It was actually very yummy and found ourselves going back a couple of times. The service wasn't that great, but we were on vacation we didn't care!
On this morning I had coconut water - straight from a coconut. I can't say I enjoyed it too much. It was too warm for me. I tried eggs, bacon, potatoes, ham and french toast with mango syrup. Delicious!

We got these complimentary Couples Resorts water bottles. Because it is so hot and humid they try to make sure your hydrated with water fountains everywhere. They were infused with all different kinds of fruits. So the water was actually very refreshing.

And off we went snorkeling. The Caribbean water is just absolutely beautiful. I could stare at all the time.

At this little island the resort would take you by boat and drop you off and you can do "couple things" in the caves. We didn't, but I guess other couples are more adventurous than we are. Haha.

This was us after snorkeling. We saw so many amazing things. We took our Go Pro - once I go through it I will be posting pictures.

Hubby didn't realize he had his shirt on until he was in the water. Haha.

After snorkeling we got a shower and decided to go for a dinner.
Here I am in our huge bathroom. I absolutely love this chair - is it even a chair? Who knows, but I loved it.

A couple's selfie. :)

How adorable are my hubby's shorts? The whole outfit is from Polo, but look at those little whales on his shorts? I don't know if he liked his outfit but he looks good in it! I copied a mannequin for the idea. Hehehe.

We're both posing by the door because it's our beach front suite for the week. I couldn't be happier.
Dress is from Express.

If you look on the left of us is the beach front suite rooms. We weren't on the 1st floor but we were on the second floor. Beach front suite's include the hammock you see on the left.

On this night it was Casino night. Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience it because we were so drained from all the sun and snorkeling. I'm not complaining though!
I do love this picture of us though. I need to enlarge it. :)

Have a great night!

Weekend Recap: Hobby Lobby, Sweet 16 DIY Card, Lush, OOTD

Happy Tuesday!

Friday:

On Sunday was my cousin's daughter's 16th birthday party so I decided to make a card for her.

I ordered a set of Jolee's scrapbook stickers and came up with this:

Saturday:

I spent some time by our pool. On my toes I am wearing Mrs. Mint by Funky Fingers (5 Below).

Went to Hobby Lobby.
(Forever 21 top and shorts, Bebe purse, Michael Kors watch)

Need this pillow.

Seeing their Fall and Halloween things make me want to decorate. :)

Christmas ornaments were even out!

Oh how I love you Hobby Lobby.

Later that day I took a bubble bath with Lush's bubble bar. Review on this later.

Sunday:

My cousin's daughter's Sweet 16 birthday party. Hubby was a little tired!

I sported my new Sperry's!

Breanna (my cousin's daughter) loved our photobooth SO much from our wedding that they booked it for her birthday party.

It was fun being able to use it again! :)
My dad & I had a blast!

Look at the hat my hubby chose - he's too funny!

Later that night I was on Pinterest and stumbled upon this set of Grinch pillows that were sold on Pottery Barn last year and are currently sold out. I am seriously contemplating making on own......

Have a great night!

Lush Bath Bomb Review - Fizzbanger

Happy Thursday!

Today I have a review of a recent Lush bath bomb purchase. I purchased this in King of Prussia a couple of weekends ago and decided to do a review on it.
You can purchase this bath bomb here for $5.95. It's called Fizzbanger.

When I smelt it I thought of candy apples. Here is the description of it on their website:
"The scent changes right before your nose, pulling you in with a delectable blend of crisp apples and cinnamon that settles into a spicy cinnamon toffee." I didn't think it smelt like cinnamon toffee at all once it changes scents. It changes from yellow to green. Actually surprised me, I thought this was just going to be yellow. When I get out of the bath tub my hubby said I smelt like fresh laundry..... so who knows. Haha. You give it a try and tell me what you think it smells like.

I love bath bombs because they always make me feel so soft! I don't even have to put on lotion afterwards.

Here's what the tub ended up looking like. This one had no sparkles in it or anything. A plus. I loved the colors it changed to. Almost looks like the sea.

I recently from an idea on Pinterest of a way to organize all your bath bombs:

I totally love this idea! I have left over jars from our Wedding that I wasn't quite sure what to do with, but now I do! Now just to buy enough bath bombs to fill it. :)

Have a great night!

Wedding Wednesday: Thank You Photo Cards

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

We just got our Thank You cards back. In my previous post I shared 2 photo's we got back from our Wedding. I ordered a Thank You banner from Etsy.com for photo's during our Wedding Day to make into cards.
We actually ordered them through Wal-Mart. I was really impressed with the quality of them. Not to mention we got envelopes with return labels on them. How convenient!

My hubby & I really like black and white photo's, so we decided to go with the black and white photo for the Thank You cards.

I hope you enjoy!

(This is a photo of a photo, so that's why it's a little grainy)

So what do you think? Not bad for Wal-Mart! Plus they came in a few short business days. Considering how long we waited for this photo to come back I decided to order from somewhere I knew I would get back quick so I can send them out. You may be in the same bind as me, so I would highly recommend Wal-Mart!

Have a great night!

Will be continuing next week with the Honeymoon series, day 3.

Weekend Recap: Baltimore, National Aquarium, OOTD, NOTD

Happy Monday!

We had a fun weekend celebrating my hubby's best friend's birthday! We have been planning this for a couple of months now, so I was really looking forward to it. Plus I haven't been there in 4 years! Amazing how time flies.
We ate good, went to a lot of fun places, and had a lot of good laughs.

Here's the weekend in photos:

Friday:

My hubby & I both worked till 5 and then hit the road. Baltimore is a lot closer to us than Philly or New Jersey, so I don't know why we don't go there more often!
We got there around 8:00 and went to Abbey Burger. We've been there a couple times before and it's so good. You basically get a sheet of paper and build your own burger. It was a lot of fun.

I attempted a turtle on my nail for the aquarium - complete fail. I also used a Five Below nail polish that I have to review.

We stayed at the Marriott in Inner Harbor. I would highly recommend, except that you are right by the stadium and all three days there was Orioles games so traffic was ridiculous.

Build-A-Burger. :)

Seriously amazing, and great atmosphere.

Later that night we picked up drinks for the room and I found this card! How adorable. I didn't buy it, wish someone would buy it for me! :)

Saturday:

If you ever watched Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives you would have saw that this restaurant was featured. It is known for it's Sweet Baby Jesus and Captain Crunch French Toast. I can't get passed the Captain Crunch French Toast to ever try the Sweet Baby Jesus - maybe one day.

Then we were off to the Aquarium!!
I just wore a romper from Kohls and my Wal-Mart jean jacket. It was extremely hot so I figured I'd keep it simple.

Some pictures from the Aquarium.

We were at the aquarium for about 3+ hours. It is so beautiful! The next time we visit we're going to go to the DC Zoo. He says it is HUGE.

 Sunday:

We had an early brunch at the Boat House Cafe. It was right next to the bay and was a beautiful site. He is so lucky to live there! I would love to go sight seeing every day.

For brunch I had the Red, White & Blue. It was a red velvet waffle, with blueberries and strawberry and white syrup. Yummy!

On the way home we stopped at Red Rabbit - a real car hop!

I took a lot of pictures with my camera so I might share those over the weekend. :)

Have a great night!
