Random Post & Haul

This past weekend was pretty random. My fiance and I celebrated Valentines Day late, we headed to Red Lobster and then shopping. I decided to try out my new Gel Nail Polish kit I bought in Atlantic City for the occasion.

I really wanted this to work. Gel Nail Polish. Sounds perfect. This was $11.99, and the worst $11.99 I ever spent in my life. Not only does the activator smell, it makes your nail polish look stripy. The activator not only smelt it really burnt my eyes, weird right? On the bottle there's a warning for it, but I didn't think anything of it!

Anyway, do-not-buy-this product. I wonder if there's another brand I could try. Anyone try any of the Gel Nail Polishes yet?

So my fiance and I did some shopping, I picked up a few things, not a lot. A lot of spring stuff out though, everything is so cute! I didn't take a picture of everything but I figured I'd take photos of this since I'll be making these soon. Haha.

It's a Cupcake Cake Pop Kit. It was only $7.99 and included everything (main reason I bought it) Plus it comes with the cookie cutter I've been looking for. I figured it'd cost more it materials than it was for the whole thing.

Anyway, off to cook dinner for the fiance. Oh!! A lot of people have been asking for the recipe for the Creamsicle cake, I didn't forget you, I'll post it soon!! :)

OOTD

I haven't done one of these posts in a looong time. It's way over do. But honestly with the cold weather, rain and snow, I really have no motivation to get dressed up. Today the fiance and I are celebrating our belated Valentines Day. Last weekend (when we were suppose to) he was really sick, so we put it off until today.

We're heading to Red Lobster, and this girl right here, is doing some shopping, which is something I haven't done in a while either! Blah. What happened to me?! haha.

Oh, I found out that if you do not have a blog, Google Connect will delete you from following my blog, and we can't have that can we?! If you don't have a blog and you still wish to continue to follow me (of course you do) I'll be putting up a place where you can subscribe to me through email! So you can see my wonderful blog posts in your email in the morning. :)
This will take affect March 1st.

Anyway here's my outfit. I'm wearing a pea coat fleece jacket with a stripped skirt from Forever 21 and Makemechic.com boots. :)

Nook Color Review

Random post about the Nook. But I'm hoping some of you will find it useful! Yesterday I promised a post about my new Nook by Barnes and Noble. I thought I would give a review on it.

Yesterday, and I'm not lying, I spent 5 hours+ on this beautiful machine. And I couldn't love it more.

Some of the features listed:
  • Touchscreen (Obviously)
  • 7" Screen, with an amazing quality! Comparable to my iPhone 4.
  • You can change your font size and font style.
  • Create a Nook account on Barnes and Noble, and if you have friends that use it, there's books that you can lend each other! I found that to be an awesome feature. I don't have any friends on Nook, please be my friend? We can share books. :) I have the Trilogy for The Hunger Games.
  • Many apps, not as much as the iPhone, I think it runs off on Android? I'm not entirely sure. But there are some free apps you can get. I personally like the Sudoku. They have others like Calculator, Memo Pads (I use this a lot), etc.
  • On the Nook on the lower left hand corner there is a place just for your email, click on it, and it loads your messages. Personal favorite of mine.
  • This tablet has Adobe Flash Player in it, so easily watch videos, etc.
  • You can easily purchase books off of Barnes and Noble.com They have their own Nook store. And not to mention the books are discounted then actually purchasing in store because of obvious reasons, no shipping, no physical item.
  • Web browsing is absolutely amazing. I even have a load of bookmarks already. lol. I have all my favorite websites with one touch.

I have to say though, when I first picked up the Nook, it was much heavier than I thought it would be, but at the same time it reminds me of something that would be durable. :)

I have three books so far: Paula Deens Kitchen Book, & The Hunger Games.

Hey, there's my blog!

That's the only apps I have.

This is the Nook store I was talking about before. A lot of books are free(some never heard of) and they also have specials for books under $5. I thought that was a nice feature.

 Currently reading Catching Fire. Haha.

Today's Ash Wednesday everyone!! What is everyone giving up?!?! I know it's not only about giving up things, it's about doing things you normally wouldn't.

One thing I know I am giving up is Fast Food. I usually like to do one nice act of kindness too during the Lent season, and I also like to start a new hobby. :) We'll see.

Have a great day everyone, and I really do hope this was helpful and not completely useless for you!

If you have a Nook and you know of any other features that I didn't list, please tell me, I'm still learning and would love to know! :)

My Valentines Day

My Valentines Day started out with classes from 8-11. I had an exam in one of my classes, and then I came home to a wonderful surprise. Yesterday my fiance and I decided not to celebrate Valentines Day today because of our schedules, he has classes in the morning and then a long lab at night, which is where he is right now. On top of it, he has two exams tomorrow that are really important. We would have no time to celebrate it until a later time. I was kind of upset, I'll admit, but I understood. So I came home after my exam to flowers and baked goods from my favorite bakery, and a cute singing cupcake on my desk. I teared up a little because I couldn't believe how thoughtful it was. In his note in the card he wrote, "I decided this morning you needed flowers and someone as beautiful as you deserves flowers on Valentines Day, and some cherry cookies!" Now that, I cried to. Haha.

It's those sweet things he does for me that make me love him more and more everyday. :')

This little guy sings and opens his mouth. Oh-my-gosh, so adorable!

Just a friendly reminder my GIVEAWAY ends tomorrow at 11:59EST Check it out here.

Early Valentines Day Present

Valentines Day came a bit early for me this year. My parents surprised me with a little gift. They never really buy me anything for Valentines Day, I usually get a card and a cute teddy bear and I'm fine with that! :) Yesterday my mom handed me this little bag from a store called 3 Sisters, it's a local boutique that sells Pandora. I opened it and cried. Why did I cry? I guess I was just so thankful and my mom said, "Why are you crying?!" And all I could muster up was, "That was so nice." haha. It's the little things that really make me happy, or the thought that goes into a gift, no matter what it is!

Anyway, they bought me the Owl charm that I thought was so adorable. I tried to take photos of the little guy but failed, but I will show anyway. It was dark last night when I took it, and I didn't have good lighting in my room, I never do because I only have one window in my little room at home. :)

GIVEAWAY ending in 3 days!! Enter HERE.

New Camera

I have to say that I'm in love with Sony products and that's all there is too it. Especially their TV's, Blue Ray players and not to mention there cameras. I have been purchasing Sony Cybershot cameras since digital cameras came out, literally. I always update my camera's every 2 years. The sony cybershot camera I have now ( DSC-T90) is in perfect working condition, but it's only a 12.1 mega pixel. I mean it works great and takes get photos. I only had one problem with it when I was at the beach, and that's when I get sand in it's lens.

So I bought myself the Sony cybershot DSC-T110. I absolutely love it and can say there are much better features on this one than the one I have now. I particular feature I love is when I click on the calendar it'll show the dates I took photos, click on the date and it'll show all the photos I took on that particular date. It's perfect for when I want to reference things, instead of scrolling through my million photos. There are many features about it that I love.

One day I'll splurge and purchase the Canon Rebel. But for now, I see no reason for it. It would truly enhance my photos for my blog, but at the same time, if I took the time to edit my photos in my Photoshop they would look just at great at those, I know because my friend who as a Canon compared my photos with his and he said there is little to no difference! I will one day purchase a Canon possibly when I have children or when my fiance and I get married, right now I see no reason for it.

Anyway, here's my new camera:

Sticking to my New Years Resolution.

I love to bake, there is no lie about that. But I can't seem to cook a meal, everything confuses me! Since my fiance and I moved back to school after winter break I've made quite a few meals, and I'm so proud of myself. Last night I made something new, one of my fiance's favorites, Chicken and Dumplings. AND he really liked it! I have to show you pictures, haha, I'm so proud, can you tell, I know it doesn't look like much, but we substituted mixed vegetables with just carrots and potatoes. Next time I need to add more, but it's a start!

So far I made:
Broccoli and Shells with homemade baked Chicken Tenders
Ham Chops with buttered noodles.
Rigatoni with Meatballs
& now..
Chicken and Dumplings. :)

Also, I had to include this. One of John's favorite cakes are Creamsicle cake. My mom always made it for John's birthday and I never knew how, so I asked her for the recipe and I attempted it for his birthday and he loved it, I'm pretty sure we ate half of it in 2 days. lol.

Creamsicle cake with whipped cream topping.

Exhausted!

Can I just say that I want to sleep in, in the worst way?! I loved, loved being on vacation, but when people say that you need a vacation after a vacation it's so true. Even when you get home you have loads of laundry to do. Not only that, I had an exam, the very next day, not to mention an Accounting exam. One that I promised myself I would study before I went away, but failed to do so. I couldn't help it, I didn't want to! Came home from Atlantic City to study my butt off. Nevertheless, the exam was last night and I'm pretty sure it was a success. Catching up on homework and things was today's task. I have so much to do it's ridiculous, I wish I had a weekend to myself!

Anyway, I hope to share my photos from my trip, but for now you get to look at my fiance's and I's wonderful faces the day we left. :P

*Going Away*

I'm going away until Tuesday, so I wanted to post something quick! My fiance and I are heading to Atlantic City to celebrate his 27th birthday. I can't believe I've been with him since he was 18 years old. He wants to spend the weekend in Atlantic City so that's where we're heading. :) Anyway, I hope to blog via my iPhone while I'm there. Of course they will be short but it's still a post, and I'll miss you guys!

Anyway, I wanted to show you this Coach Cupcake Key Fob that I found on Bloomingdales.com, and I'm hoping to find it in Atlantic City, it's so adorable!

Also, be sure to check out my GIVEAWAY if you haven't already done so! Check it out here.

DIY Juicy Couture Charm Collection

So I noticed the other day when I went on JuicyCouture.com that they hardly had any new charms, I went to Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and NeimanMarcus and they had hardly any too. I was really wondering what was going on. Well today I decided to see what other kind of jewelry they had and I came across this new section called "DIY Charms". I was so amazed, so many different styled charms and a lot "daintier", not to mention a lot cheaper compared to their other charms, still expensive nevertheless.

I wanted to share some of their charms with you, and was wondering if I could get your feedback on the idea or if you've bought them before. I have my eye on a few, but still not sure how I feel about the idea?

Your options to put the charms on.

You can check out their DIY charm collection here.

Also, don't forget about my GIVEAWAY, comment here to enter!!!!
